PASSING THROUGH

“Passing Through” is a narrative that I created about the mundane life of a sheet ghost. This character doesn’t represent me so much as my feelings and my mental state. I often feel like a ghost—a bystander, a passive observer—in my own life as I go about my daily tasks. This doesn’t usually depress me but it makes everything feel a little fuzzy, which is what these photos are meant to communicate. I take it in stride with a sense of humor and a little irony. I put a lot of care into devising the details of these little moments. I chose the objects and locations and scenarios to communicate that this ghost is an individual with a personality so that it can be identified and empathized with.
